Since the 500’s, the Saint Brigid’s Cross has been connected with the timeless folk traditions of Ireland. Throughout Ireland, the cross is affiliated with the arrival of the season of Spring and with St. Brigid, a native of Kildare. Due to the association between the cross and Spring, St. Brigid’s day has been celebrated on February 1st for centuries.
The hand-weaving of the Saint Brigid’s Cross at the beginning of Spring is an ancient Irish custom. The cross is made from rushes which are harvested in Co. Louth, cut to length and woven into crosses.
The cross is traditionally hung over doors or windows to protect the home and its occupants from any type of harm.
Two Sizes Available :

It's a great stop to visit. Aengus, Fiona and Ann are wonderful hosts. They give guests a brilliant insight into Crystal making every little thing is explained and then guests get to see a craftsman cutting a piece freehand. It's truly amazing to see it done
